Logo, style guide and promotional materials

Air guitar is a performance art that embodies rock & roll, metal, and individuality. Little known, is that there is an international air guitar competition in which performance artists from all around the world compete to bring the title home to their country. Cat Friday is one such performer. As part of his campaign, Cat Friday required branding and promotional materials developed to help him raise funds to get to the Championships in Oulu, Finland.

About the Project

Cat Friday is derived from the client's two most favorite things; cats, and Fridays. I chose to design the logo to reflect the chilled and relaxed nature of cat, and relaxation on a Friday afternoon. I illustrated a cat's face wearing a pair of sunglasses, in the style that Cat Friday wears on stage. The colours developed for Cat Friday's branding and identity were inspired by "air" and the lighting of most concerts and air guitar competitions.

The Grande Finale

As part of Cat Friday's campaign, he is raising funds to compete at the Worlds in Oulu, Finland. I conducted a photo shoot with the client to gather photos displaying some of Cat Friday's signature moves for use in the campaign. Branding guidelines and brand identity were then applied to a sponsorship package. A t-shirt was also designed to be marketed and sold to assist in raising funds for his campaign.
